The problem is i got a new gpu HD5850 (great card) and it seems this is too fast for my screen, I always have screen tear and have to enable v sinc in games to smooth things out. Now this screen should be 75Hz but I can only get it to 60Hz with CCC, or windows desktop display settings! Does anyone know a way to force my samsung to 75Hz. As v sinc is slowing my peformance down and affecting my mouse movement, thanks...

TFT monitors don't generally support greater than 60Hz. Your monitor certainly does not support greater than 60Hz. Is screen tear a moajor issue for you? I don't notice it even running games at 300fps plus. Perhaps it's specific to the game you're playing?

Well yes, but only at certain resolutions, not at the native res of 1920x1080. Sorry to disappoint.

Well I'm running the top of the line Dell 24" and my screen only uses 75hz at 1280x1024 and lower. Anything above that and it can only do 60Hz.

It's completely normal unless you look into buying one of the 120Hz panels Samsung and the like are doing now.

Hope this answers your question?

My bet is you'll get used to it. You'll find everyone on here found this problem when they switched from CRT but you don't notice it after a while. I do notice it in Bioshock to be fair, especially with blue strobe lighting.

Ahh ok that's a shame. To be honest with you I only notice it (without specifically looking for it) on COD:MW2 when looking at a tin shed and moving left and right if that makes sense?

In other words in-game with a series of bars and going left and right it looks like it goes out of sync i.e. the bars do not align as they should be - is this similar thing?
