samba shares - guest access with read/write = safe?

Hiya,

currently setting up a ubuntu home server. IF I leave guest acess enabled with read/write access is this a wise thing to do?

My router has WEP protection for wireless and I guess if anyone breaks in they will simple steal my pc's and not plug there laptop into an ethernet port

The only internet access the server will get is usenet downloads and torrents.

Is the guest account safe?

I have options for WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA-802.1x which one is best?

hhmmm I may not need guest account access as my macbook seems have to decided to play nice with samba.
