Was just wondering if there is any benefit to using a graphics card and a mobo made by the same company.

For example, an EVGA 8800 and an EVGA 680i mobo...

none that I know of.
once upon a time when abit made gfx cards too if you had a Vguru gfx card on a uGuru mobo you could do some extra stuff.
Unless any other mobo/gfx mfr today has similar ...

EVGA have generally amazing build quality, though there is no advantage to be seen by sticking to the same brand generally.

While I'm mightily impressed with EVGA's after sales service their kit is all made by other people, no? Certainly the 680i board is exactrly the same as the other generic NVidia pattern 680i boards and isn't made by AMD.

The only reason I can think of for going with EVGA is that they actually stand behind their products.
