once upon a time when abit made gfx cards too if you had a Vguru gfx card on a uGuru mobo you could do some extra stuff.

While I'm mightily impressed with EVGA's after sales service their kit is all made by other people, no? Certainly the 680i board is exactrly the same as the other generic NVidia pattern 680i boards and isn't made by AMD.
The only reason I can think of for going with EVGA is that they actually stand behind their products.
