Same FPS no matter what settings...

ok guys, so installed f.e.a.r the other day, ran auto detect on graphics settings and it came back with ok settings and i was getting 98% above 40fps but now, no matter what settings i'm getting 15fps or lower and i cant figure out why.

any ideas?

how do i sort this vsync out ? in the graphics options ? and what does it do, is it better with it on graphics wise but i cant handle it or what ??

VSync caps the refresh rate at 60? Or whatever the refresh rate is? I doubt it'll keep it that low. If i'm wrong then please elaborate

No way it is vsync at 15fps, maybe you have forced high AA in the graphics control panel.

nope, its auto detect and i put fsaax2 and aax8 which WAS giving me +40fps, v sync is off and as i said, even if i run it everything low and 640x800 i still get 15fps :confused:

This may sound obvious, but could it be some kind of max fps setting in the console?

Not to familiar with the workings of FEAR but it sounds likely.

nope they are off via auto detect.

its the same no matter what settings i use!

well, you see, i havnt actually done anything to the game settings since i installed it so i dunno why its doing it but ill try setting it to one core and return shortly.

best thing to do is reinstall the game. failing that then reinstall your display drivers.
