Hi all,

Just a bit confused. There are a few games and I am thinking of getting but I have noticed differences in price from buying it from steam , origin or uplay compared to buying it at game. But what I am confused about is if I buy from a store will it still show up in my online gaming format such as steam to see achievements ect

If it's on steam then you can add the code from the physical copy and play it through steam.
Edit: Steam tends to be a bit more expensive too but just make sure you're not comparing different versions, i.e. collectors edition/premium to standard.

Most physical games require some type of online activation in the install. So for instance if you found the Mass Effect Trilogy cheaper on disc than on Origin or Steam (although 3 isn't on Steam), there'd be a code in the packaging to tie it to your Origin account. Same thing for some of the old Half Life games (I managed to activate an old Half Life Origins box set through an old CD Key).

Essentially, just pick the cheapest option and if it's physical a quick search should reveal whether you'll also get a digital activation too.

The only way to get most newer Ubisoft games on Steam is to buy from Steam, else they come with a uPlay key.

Very few, if any EA titles come with a Steam key at all, just Origin.

A lot (not all) Indie titles come with a Steam key in the box nowadays.

It boils down to what digital platform you prefer.

If buying a uPlay title on Steam, it installs through Steam but still runs uPlay at launch.

What games specifically are you referring to?
