Same GFX Cards, 3000 score difference on 3dmark

me and my brother have the same gfx card (MSI GeForce NX8600 GTS).

we both have 4gb ram, same speed ram, and i have Q6600 Quad core and he has AMD 5600+ Dual core...

yet on 3dmark01 i get 30,000 score and he gets 33,500 - 34,000...

how can this be when we both have same card, and my cpu is better than his!?

Are you both testing at the same settings on 3dmark (and why the heck are you using 01?) Get 06, and watch your processor blow his away if your worried about scores.

Are both cards stock speeds? Is his processor overclocked?

3d mark 01 will only use 1 core

His 1 core must be more efficient in 3dmark01 that your 1 core...


As said above, run 3dmark06 and watch your cpu annihilate his...

hehe, in fact i had mine overclocked and his stock. i ran 06, and got 6000, where he got 5500... hehe... that test really maxes it out!

Are you both running the same OS? XP gives me and 8k higher 01 score than Vista 32 does with an 8800GTS. Vista is pants for 01 benches and slightly behind on the others.
