I'm sorry guys, I'm sure this has been answered a million times here already, but I'm trawling through the jungle of posts here, and I'm just not seeing it...

When can we expect SLi-capable Conroe boards (and what boards have been announced?). 7950 GX2-comaptible too, as that's the card I'm planning to get.

I ask this because I plan to build new machine in early August (was planning to order 3rd August), but it sounds like I might have put it back. While I don;t plan to SLi for the moment anyway, I am planning to in the future...

Im going conroe at the end of the month and i used to have dual 7900GTs. The problem i has was i couldnt find a single sli conroe mboo. Hence the reason i just changed to an x1900xtx

Apparently you can get these beta nVidia drivers that allow you to use SLI on current Conroe motherboards - although wait till someone else confirms.

Alternatively, nVidia are releasing their own chipset for Conroe motherboards which should be SLI compatible.

wait for the nForce 5 series guys, it's SLi (obviously), and it supports conroe, and *hopefully* it's a better overclockers than their nForce 4 Intel variety, but that's a big "hopefully" :(

My build:

Core 2 Extreme x6800
4GB DDR2-1066
(2) 7950GX2's
nForce 590 Ultra Intel Edition.

And probably a couple of raptors + other HDDs, but that's the core ^^

So what's the ETA on the nForce 590 Intel Edition?

Might make more sense to go ATi, but I have my eyes on that 7950 GX2. Plus I've been an ATi user for the last few years and feel like a change.
Plus PureVideo>AVIVO IMO, and I'll be using that more than anything else.

On a totally unrelated note, I used to think I'd need DDR2 800MHz for Conroe X6800 @ stock, but I've been reading PC2-5300 (which is clocked at 667MHz). What do I need?
