A few of you may have seen my problems over the past months etc.
Just to outline, i've had major/minor stutter in 3d apps and some movie's etc.
i've never found out the cause, although i did replace my 4x1gb RAM to 2x2gb which helped to an extent.

I tried almost everything to my knowledge and everything to what you had suggested.

And tbh i did give up for a while but, ive just completed a build for my parents, and for the hell of it i thought i'd try see how this Rig handled everything.

And to my surprise this BRAND NEW rig, had the same problem as me!
and also in the same night ive diagnosed my girlfriends with the same problem (although ive always overlooked this rig as it isnt the most powerful of systems).

And now im back at the begining completely stuck to what my problem is.
I've heard of cheap wiring or electrical equipment disupting other equipment before, for example on another forum, a guy experienced stutter when his subwoofer was on.

Or is it just a coincidence maybe that i have a service running on all rigs, that doing something odd?

Id this possibly the case?
To be honest i will cahse up any idea at the moment, no matter how far fetched it is.

Cheers in advance.

Note:
The systems ive tested on are,
my own in the sig @ stock also
parents: Athlon x2 240 @2.8 - hd4670 - Vista 64
Girlfriends: Pentium dual core @1.8 nvidia 8600 - Vista 32

did you build all 3 rigs, yea?
that's a very strange problem, are they all running in the same house of different?
overheating issues? drivers etc etc? have you test all 3 rigs the way i assume you did your own? could just be a massive coincidence and 2 of the rigs just have driver issues.
are the o/s' legit or cracked? could cause an underlying problem?

i've no idea really as by the sounds of it you've probably tried most things i could suggest.

I've built mine and my parents, my girlfriends is a standard compaq from that giant retailer.

All drivers are up to date, ive checked several times with different bios.
All OS's are legit, cooling defintely isn't a problem, my own rig doesnt go over 60 and my parents i just build was in the mid 30's.

Since the main thing linking the rigs is either you or the network they're on i would investigate those possibilities. It may be that you've done something minorly wrong or got a bit of dust trapped somewhere and it's causing the problems on each of them. If they're all connected to the same network there could be a virus of some sort going round it. That, or as Exodus said it could be one massive coincidence.

True i guess i could do a full wipe on allt he systems and start a new with no network etc.
Although i have done atleast 6+ formats on my own rig with no network attached etc.
One thing i didnt mention is that i've also seen little stutter on some play back on my 50" plasma, although i cant really prove this, and ive always thought it to be just that im not playing anything in HD etc.

ive gone as far to almost getting my eyes checked out :D

Is it possible that the power to my flat is fluctuating a little too much? As it could possibly sound like a power supply problem but i have tried several.
I think im gonna attempt to chase up this idea of other equipment disrupting some things. Although my attempts so far haven't yielded any results.

Can anybody else see this? If not, yes, get your eyes tested. They might be too sensitive to dark. Since the image flashes dark as often as it flashes bright, but usually that doesn't matter since your eyes are far more sensitive to light. At least, that's how i understand it.

Well i've showed my girlfriend and she defintely see's stutter in cod4 when i strafe etc, other games she says its not there, but tbh i dont think she actually cares, she's more bothered about missing eastenders :)

And no i dont have any brand loyalty so theres not a lot of similiar parts in all.
And sorry i meant games really rather than any 3d editing software.

do full virus scans etc etc, could be something like that, say you picked up a virus on usb stick and it's operating in the background.

you could also try running your computer at a friend or neighbors house if you're worried about power fluctuations

have you tried running games on lowest settings different res' no v sync, tbh i really doubt it's your eyes.

Well the thing is its always there, v-sync or not, lower resolutions just make it more noticable.
i'm going to take my rig over to my parents this week and try it out, also install several games on there system too.

Have you ever heard of power fluctuations causing problems?
