Just saw this advertised on OCUK

"Samsung LE32M87BDX 32" 100Hz HD Ready Freeview LCD TV"

Got to be joking right?, are they saying that I can connect it to my PC and set the res to 1360*768 and refresh rate to 100HZ?..., I doubt it, so what does this 100HZ technology do, since there are no 100HZ sources, i.e games console/dvd players can do max 60HZ, then what does this 100hz technology do?

It's there to reduce flicker. But it has to mess around with the input a lot to get it to 100hz

it's an interpolation technology designed to double the framerate of sources artificially, and reduce perceived motion blur considerably. It's actually pretty effective, and comes in 100Hz and 120Hz flavours depending on the region. See here for some more info. there's plenty of 100Hz LCD tV's around nowadays really

Not wanting to hijack this thread, but if you can buy 32"+ LCD tv's for roughly the same price as say a dell 24" 2407 or other brand monitor, why buy the dell? Is it because of the lower native res of the TV's?

Yes. The DPI of TVs kills.

Has nothing to do with that, its because LCD can still lag, they are making them 100HZ (dont confuse with 100HZ CRT TV's where picture quality suffered).

100HZ is not really ideal as they need to be same as the USA sets and be 120HZ, as Blu Ray is 24FPS so wont go into 100 but goes into 120 by 5x.
