Just got it this morning and I have to say .... AMAZING. I have put off buying and LCD for a very long time now and I finally took the plunge. I have owned several Samsung CRTs and I always liked them so I felt they would be a good place to start with LCDs.

Worth every penny. Beautifully clear and 0 Ghosting in any games. I havent set up my Crossfire yet but even on one X1900, it was totally amazing. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a 20" ++

Cheers

What negative stuff have you heard? If it's "Input lag", I certainly haven't seen any.

PS : Been reading HardOCP. The lag problems are apparently with the 244t and not this model. I've been testing my monitor for the last 2 hours and I can attest that there are NO noticeable problems with it at all.

If I where to use this monitor for gaming and to say drop the resolution to 1280 x wahtever the widescreen vertical resolution is, would everything still look as good as gaming at the panel's native resolution. It would be very helpful if you cold test this.

Thanks in advance Russell

Mogwai : I tried Far Cry in 1280 x 7xx or something and it was fine. Doesnt really seem to matter what res you game in. The monitor is stunning. I'll get you screenies in due course but still putting together system and testing.

Acecard : The is correct, Native is 1680 x 1050.

Whats your point exactly?

PS : Scratch that, I thought that was a clock on the screen hehe. I dont have problems like that on mine at all. There is absolutely no "input lag" whatsoever. Thats just my experience obviously.

I think the point is that both monitors there are in clone mode, yet the time shown on the Sammy is 53 ms behind the CRT on one picture and 74 ms behind on the other. That means the display is 3-4 frames behind where it should be.

Now you wouldn't notice this normally, but if you played a fast paced game like an FPS shooter, this would mean the sound and keyboard/mouse input would be out of sync (ahead in this case) with the picture on the screen by 3-4 frames and it would make hitting fast moving targets harder. It would affect any game where you needed to react quickly too, not just FPS games. What you are seeing on the screen is 3-4 frames out of date.

There's an article about it here-

http://www.behardware.com/articles/632-1/lcds-images-delayed-compared-to-crts-yes.html

All TFTs seem to suffer this problem, especially high res widescreens, but this Samsung seems to suffer more than most.

edit: Ah, nevermind, I see you already know all about this in your 'rude awakenning' thread. I'll get me coat :)
