Samsung 215TW question

Hi,

Tempted by one of the Samsung 215TW monitors. Had my eye on a widescreen 20/21" screen for a while and with it's wide range of inputs this looks ideal as I'm hoping to pick up an XBox 360 soon.

I wonder if anyone could tell me if the monitor accepts HD (720p) signals via component?

Also any general thoughts and feelings about this monitor would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have this monitor. It has component inputs hence I'm guessing it allows HD over component as the screen res can handle 1368x720 albeit with downscaling (from 1680x1050 native).

It's a lovely, lovely monitor.

(By the way, PIP allows component as the "minipicture"...)

sorry for jumping on the thread - but I've also been toying with this monitor. i currently have a 19" IIyama Vision Master Pro 450, which is an excellent monitor; and I just can't make up my mind if I should change it for an LCD.

I use my comp for gaming (FPS, RTS, etc) and amateur photo editing; I am a little worried about the colour reproduction of an LCD, as the photo work I do is astrophotography (planets, nebulae, galaxies, etc) based, and I've read numerous posts saying CRT's are way better.

Being an owner of said monitor, I'd by interested to know your thoughts.

thanks

Ended up going for a proper 26" Samsung LCD Tv - only £100 more so why not. The resolution doesn't concern me too much as long as it's 720p as will mainly be used for XBox/Video.

I use mine for gaming, semi-pro video editing and non-pro photoshopping etc. I also work with large face texture databases for biometrics research.

I read a few reviews on the Samsung, they all said the colour reproduction was almost spot on (just google "review 215TW").

Personally I can't fault it. But then it's been 5+ years since I've used a CRT ;)
