Samsung 22" model differences?

As far as I am aware there is no difference between the 226bw and the 2232bw apart from the casing, so pick your preferred style.

As far the 226cw from my understanding you are guaranteed a Samsung panel however with the others its a bit of a lottery... can anyone confirm?

edit: are overclockers shipping only s-panels with the bw's does anybody know?

I have a 226BW from overclockers, had it about a month and it's an S-panel. From what I understand, Samsung are only manufacturing these as S-panels now, or they're all thats left. There was a news article on the web, try googling it if you're interested.

As for the 2232bw in comparison to the 226bw, the 2232 does look different, and does still have the panel fiasco attached to it. Also, it isn't as true a 2ms panel as the 226bw since the overdrive function that controls making the panel 2ms (it's normally a 5ms panel) has been reduced in strength to stop some visual problems experienced with the 226bw. This isn't something you could notice that easily though. It's also worth noting that the difference in panels for the 2232bw is much smaller than the 226bw's.

This website has a lot of info that you may find helpful http://www.behardware.com/articles/689-1/22-inch-lcd-monitors-the-3rd-wave.html

Made for an interesting read. I think i'm edging towards the 2232bw...

226BW and 2232BW are pretty much the same thing, just with a different design. The 226CW offers a W-CCFL backlight offering an extended colour gamut. That's about the only real difference. Whether you get an S-panel on any of these is a gamble afaik, and there are also reports that the overdrive impulse is poorly set up on the 226CW, meaning it doesn't really function. As such, responsiveness in practice is behind the other two models.
