Hey

Got one of these today and have been testing it out. One thing kinda annoying me is the fact that in most FPS (COD4 etc) in general the refresh is grand but i was checking out GoW and there squite a bit of screen tearing and slight stuttering ingame. I am wondering is there a way to overcome this via CCC or is this just down to the game itself ?

Are most of you guys playing games in the native 1920x1200 or what is generally a good resolution for gaming on a 24"

cheers
M

I doubt most are gaming at those resolutions. To get rid of tearing, when you have vsync off, you need to up the refresh rate but LCDs only do 60hz and that's the problem your experiencing. If the game has a frame limit then lower it and see how it effects the tearing. I think you'll find below 100fps is what you are looking for. Drawing any more frames than 100 will likely cause a lot of tearing.

You need v-sync on to get rid of the tearing, but it hits your framerate unless the game is consistently running at 60fps, or unless it supports tripple buffering, or you force tripple buffering with an app like DxTweaker.

Try lowering texture resolution, I got that too (GOW) If you have a A64x2 install the AMD optimizer. Got the 245B Samsung.

Not a monitor problem, just a shoddy port.

Did you change v-sync to always on in the control panel? There should be no chance of getting tearing with v-sync on, so either it's not tearing, or v-sync isn't on. I supposed the game could be overriding the video card setting.
