i just bought one of these tvs that has the biult in freeview box.I have been setting it up with my xbox 360 and my dvd player, but having some problems. My 360 is working great with it at HD.the problem is the normal tv and freeview the pic is poor. The built in freeview is poor in my oppinion,so i have connected my external one but the picture still is not as good as i expected. The picture is very washed out and there seems to be no sharpness to the pictureat all. I have played around for most of the day trying to find best settings but still it looks poor. I am using normal scart leads that you can pick up from markets/ebay/cheapshops for like £1.50,will more expensive scarts improve the picture?

Obviously a better scart lead will not improve the pic quality of the internal freeview tuner - my R41 (32" version) also has awful standard reception however my freeview is excellent.

What kind of aerial have you got? If its an internal table top type then maybe get a signal booster, but better yet get a roof aerial installed. If you only had an internal aerial before and didnt notice on yoru old tv the quality of reception then I am not surprised on a newer screen how shocking it looks, these screens do highlight a bad source i am afraid.

the arial i am using is a roof arial, the picture was perfect on old tv but this tv just looks overstretched and fuzzy/blurred around edges of peoples faces ect.

Depending on how old your last tv was, may not have been picking up how awful your signal is, but these new panels in hdtv's do magnify any signal quality problems

Maybe get someone to bring round a media centre pc with tv card? Or risk getting someone up on the roof to adjust the aerial?
