Samsung 4k Freesync Screens

Good to see Samsung entering the Freesync arena... but I REALLY WISH they'd put out some high refresh panels. I think they could really deliver, especially if they had a PLS (IPS) model to rival the Asus. If you're reading this Samsung, COME ON! :)

I totally agree with you. I guess Samsung is pretty much testing the waters with these. I mean these products clearly target the "weekend gamer" who has max 1 hour to play a bit on a weekend :D ... I would not be surprised that the next year models will not be as conservative as the current ones are.

On the other hand, the price difference is huge ... (U24E590D >> US=approx.£253 MSRP vs UK=£359 Street) This indicates to me that we can expect price drops sooner than later. It is interesting to see that on a brand new model in the US (U28E590D) Samsung already offers discount of $50. (Good for us consumers...)

Dont get confused though. There are two ranges. The 5 series for home consumer and the 8 seriers for professionals.

The 8 series carries a price premium and come with more connections but unsure what other differences apart from a better stand.

Unfortunately samsung have not done a 5 series 32" screen (yet) but looking at the other prices differences it would be around £100 cheaper than the professional one.

The only thing wrong in the uk is the price of the 24" screen. At $400 list price it should be £305 over here.

The 28" has a $600 list price which means it should be £456. Ocuk selling them for £420 so under MSRP.

I noticed that as well, though I have seen some shops in europe getting them in stock. Though my guess is that there will be a lot more stores who have them in stock by the end of the week if not then end of june.

But it's good to see actual news about it.

Why does everyshop i see with stock just have quantity 1?

It is not really the case there are many German sellers who do have more than one. I even called one just for curiosity and they confirmed they have these in stock. (Not unlimited supply but one even said that they received their second shipment.)

I agree with you, the 24in (U24E590D) price is horribly wrong here. I am inclined to say that it should be £279 but definitely no more than £300.

Well list price with VAT is £305 so for a new monitor i wouldnt expect it less than that for now.

For a 4k 24" IPS screen though, £305 is a bargain.
