My 55JS8000 lost a battle with a flying phone so now is time to decide between these 2 TV's.

They're the same price at £1749 although shops are now increasing the price of the B6 to £1999  can people stop praising this TV too much :D Is OLED really that much better, I went 2 Currys shops but all the TV's were randomly calibrated bar the huge Samsung FALD which was very bright & colourful.
I have a Very discount code that may get me 20% off the B6, making it £1600, or is it best to wait? What bugs me about Very is their non return policy once connected... thinking of a dead pixel nightmare. Can an OLED have a dead pixel out the box?

My requirements are:
movies: Netflix, Amazon, Xbox 4k HDR10 blue ray (mostly in the dark)
gaming: Xbox S upscaled to 4k sometimes in HDR or use TV upscaling if better?
tv shows 1080/4k some HDR: Netflix, Amazon = 80% of TV usage
tv: mostly in BBC News
YouTube 4k HDR if possible

The pro's & con's as I see them:

B6
better movies in dark
less bright, similar to JS8000?
will the UK get the firmware fix for gaming lag & motion control

KS8000
much brighter but what about peak ramp up times?
poor at movies in dark
better at HDR gaming due to more vivid higher brightness
as screen is bigger can position in a better location further from sofa
JS8000 had very buggy software eg. having to correct DTS/Dolby for every input, is KS the same?

[Edit]
65KS9000 curved is also £1749

Yeah the KS8000 appears the safer bet especially for gaming.
The KS9000 is the same price but thats curved.
There is a diference in model numbers with the States as the UK 8000 is the same as the US 9000 & UK 9000 is = to US 9500.
Prices seam to be up in the air atm, which is to be expected before the 2017 range land in the shops.

Ive been used to a 55JS8000 & the peak brightness in Man in the High Castle ep1 was good & Daredevel s2 colours were awesome. Although the blacks were never amazing in films like Underworld.

A 65" does sound appealing from a more homeley position but the better colours of a 55" OLED makes it a tough call. I'm worried about bad pixels on an OLED too.

I may find another TV shop to try & compare the 2 TV's again.

This spec me a TV has changed from a 65KS8000 or LG OLED55B6V to an OLED55E6V & finally a Panasonic 58DX902 FALD.

65KS8000 I thought was the worst, partly because the peak brightness takes time to ramp up & the bottom edge lighting will wreck letterbox blacks unlike my old JS8000.
OLED55B6V has a gaming lag issue which LG refuse to let the UK have, plus possibly motion issues.
OLED55E6V was a bit too expensive plus a lot to pay for only 600nits when high HDR nits are the future.
Still mopping up on the DX902 research & after a visit to Currys its flipping feet are 46 inches apart! - 7 inches wider than my stand :(
Currys stuffed the 902 up a corner (far away from the Samy FALD) & had it showing the same demo as a 55" low end £800 Samy & the Samy looked way better. Looked like they dropped the settings of the 902 or its default settings are bland.

Got a 58dx902 yesterday 1750 + 73 for a ub700 as a deal. I think that was a good price. The E6 was really out of my price & got no TV so acted quick.
Ironically i tried a few LG HDR demos & omg compared to the JS8000 its in anothwr league.
Man in high castle peak brightness first 5 mins ep1 was very bright.
Gaming at 37ms is fine in 4k hdr on the xbox.
Will leave a review if anyone interested.

Yes, very pleased with the Panasonic FALD. 1250 nits is more than twice the old JS8000. The colours are so much more natural even before calibration. Can't really hear the 6 fans.
Ironically the LG Jazz demo looks a lot better than JS8000. This TV truly is remarkable. Granted, new tech is just around the corner but would have to wait until Nov for prices to drop within my reach.
4000 nits referenced UHD does posturise the absolute peak brightness, as you say on the rare occasion, but guess that's software as the Samsung FALD does not posturise with 1430 nits.

Had this tv a week.
Great neutral colour.
HDR good on blue ray (UB700) & some demos but not Samsung demos.
Gaming lag ok.
Great local dimming & amazing contest bar small bright objects which is to be expected from a FALD.
Not noticed LCD smear on my 58" but there is a bright vertical line an inch thick a quarter in from the right which can be seen in mid tone panning scenes.
No DTS unlike every other TV.
Sometimes apps suffer from audio drop outs with optical 5:1 & removing ext recording HDD can fix this.
If pass Dolby 5:1 audio through this TV from a console there is a 1 second audio delay with no compensation in menu.
No YouTube HDR.
On-board H.265 player is faulty & can't play half the HEVC videos thrown at it.

Great TV but need a good amp with multiple digital inputs as the digital audio out from this TV is terrible & no DTS... What were they thinking.
Also need a good external H.265 HDR video player, plus with smart HDR apps as the audio out from this TV can't be trusted.

I highly recommend the DX902 if you also have a good amp & video/smart player due to Panasonic failing on the software side & will likely fail in their 2017 range too.

The saga continues...
Returned 2x Panasonic FALD's due to bad DSE & banding. Apparently even the more expensive Samsung FALD suffers from DSE. It must be due to shining bright lights directly behind the LCD.
DSE & banding were more apparent in HDR. The blue sky in Forza 3 was horrific, half was darker because of the DSE. I'd be a FLID to go FALD again.
Looking at the following 2 TV's now...
Samsung 65KS9000. Issue are poor HDR movies in a dark room due to LED's at bottom wrecking the black letterbox.
LG 55E6. Issues are a possible stuck on pixel & dropping on a good one, though 65" has more banding issues.

Both are about the same price.
My viewing distance is 2.5m or a better 3.3m. Is it worth sacrificing image quality for another 10 inches?

Once you go OLED you wont go back to lcd :p

A few people have said that.
Righto, gotta get from Currys as thats where my exchange is in limbo atm & they said I can wait until 17th April.
I dont wanna refund as I'll lose the original deal on a UB700 for £73.
55E6 it is. Currently £2199. Hope it drops on the Easter sales or enough beforehand.

Input lag is fine. Mass Effect Andromeda looks good in HDR upscaled to 4k on the Xbox 1s.
50% grey on my 55 is virtually perfect unlike the previous 2 58DX902 which had really bad DSE + dead pixels! I'm not going try a 5% slide like most the geeks on AVForums do as no TV is perfect & I've only seen 1 banding line once in a dark scene but now its gone?
Peak brightness looks about the same as my old JS8000 but ironically I reckon HDR is vastly improved purely because HDR on LCD requires the backlight to run at max which increases clouding, shafts of light from the LED's, haloing from FALD & a general loss of black.
Even SDR TV shows like The Expanse benefit from OLED in the space scenes. Although BBC News looked better on a DX902 I think because it had better calibrated colour out the box.
Yes, OLED is in a different league but I do agree peak brightness needs to improve. I've read 2017 OLED are only 10% brighter too & don't have 3D so reckon I jumped on the OLED train at a good time, because I ain't never getting off :D

Was looking at Sony XE90 49" but I keep reading all this OLED talk, only thing is 55" might be a bit big for my room unless I wall mount it.

Im looking at the LG55B6V.

Is this set ok for someone who games.

Im a complete noob when it comes to OLED.

I was going get the B6 but at the time it didn't have the gaming lag fix. It may have it now.
TBH tho for an extra £200 I'm very happy with the E6. I think they all use the same screen anyway plus I like 3D.

Yeah very impressed with OLED. Finding myself watching older films with a lot of black in them & when friends come round shouting 'look at that black' :D

HDR Peak brightness is good enough for me but noticeably less than a dx902. Sometimes it hurts your eyes in a dark room but that's when there's a dark scene just before.

When I got my E6 the B6 was £200 less.
