...I would first like to say that overclocking a laptop GPU is not big or clever..
Standard 8gig ram Samsung 700G7A
3dmark 06 ( Demo )
Catalyst 12.4
Driver 8.916
Trixx O/C utility
clocks 680/900 700/950
Score 18,157 18,422
SM 2.0 7,455 7,476
HDR / SM3.0 8,086 8,247
CPU 5,300 5,437
Before I updated the driver, Far cry 3 ran laggy on standard clocks medium settings, but I have not managed to achieve high frame ( >40 ) rates with anything other than low/medium graphic settings selected on this game as it is very demanding, I would doubt even a max O/C would make a difference and would make this laptop suffer unnecessarily.
Battlefield 3 plays very well standard clocks and performs much better than my mates MSI GE60.
I will try raising the clocks as I think it will handle it, anybody know what the VDDC setting is all about in the trixx utility?
My interest in O/Cing this laptop is to get the best out of it, but this will be balanced against real world gaming as i don't think that stressing any card for an extra couple frames is worth the risk. This laptop already runs Star craft 2 at ultra 1080 but the cut scenes suffer from lag.
Update...
720/970 clocks
18,576
7,548
8,385
5380
