Is anyone else experiencing problems signing in or syncing to older Tablets or Phones. When I last logged in to my Samsung Account on my Note 8 I HAD to setup 2 Factor Authorisation before it would let me login. I'm guessing this is why the problems have now started. There's no option to turn off 2FA either through Samsung UKs website or in the settings on my Note 8. Samsung tell me there is no support at the moment due to COVID-19.
However I now find that I can't login to my Samsung or Samsung Internet Accounts on my Tab S 8.4 or a Galaxy Note 4. Each time I try on the tablet or Note 4 I get a 'process failed' when I use the suggested method of using the original 2FA sent to my Note 8. I don't get a SMS sent to my Note 8 every time I try to login which is supposed to happen.
If I login to my Samsung Account on the Note 8 it sends an SMS and using the code I can login. Trying to Login to my Samsung Internet Account fails every time with the 'process failed' error message.
Can I suggest that anyone who is currently logged in to either their Samsung or Samsung Internet accounts do not log out unless they want to run the risk of not being able to get back in again. After saying that if you try to sync Samsung Internet it will probably fail anyway.
Any suggestions how to resolve this?
UPDATE: I've managed to finally login to Samsung Internet using the options in this Samsung site which doesn't require a 2FA login but does allow you to set either an Authenticator App or to download manual codes.
I first tried the Google Authenticator App which allowed access to the Samsung Account on my Note 8 only it didn't allow authentication of Samsung Internet. I then tried the manual codes which worked for the Note 8, Note 4 and Tab S.
However logging into the Samsung Account on older devices is hard coded into the OS so you don't get an option to enter a code and as far as I can see you will never be able to login to the Samsung Account on older devices again. When you login to the Samsung Internet account it's done through a web page.
