All games are 720p at the moment so 1024*768 isn't much of a drop in resolution when you get infinitely better colours, black depth and overall image quality.

as far as I know 720p refers to a 16:9 resolution of 1280x720 so this tv isnt 720p, although it still looks very nice for those not bothered about such things

I would not buy a "HD" television with a resolution lower than 720p.

Using the xbox, youve got VGA which can do 1024x768 scaled from the xbox i believe.

Everything else will be 720p from the xbox and then the TV will scale that down to 1024x768..

Can't believe how cheap large plasma TV's are. Makes me wonder why anyone would go for LCD.

I prefer the sharper image of an LCD to Plasma, but a main thing for me is screen burn, I constantly leave my PC on a webpage while I go to eat, it's too big a habit, asking for trouble if I had a Plasma.

Unless it was a Kuro, obviously. ;)

Maybe this monitor will be able to do full 720P? My dads 37" samsung downstairs was supposed to be just 720P with that been the max res or something like 1380x768 or something aroun that? And the PS3 Outputs at 1080i on it and web pages and other things look smaller on it in 1080i compared to 720P.

Right now as I enter this I am on my 22" monitor in 720P on the PS3 and its bigger compared to 1080i on my 37" downstairs.

You can still output to the television, everything will be scaled though, scaling is bad for picture quality. In fairness, scaling a higher quality source to a lower pixel screen is better than scaling SD content up to HD, but it means your wasting your picture quality source. 1366x768 is another common resolution and that is above 720p.

As for things being bigger etc, 1080i is a higher resolution and therefore web pages will look smaller compared to 720p.

Balls. I have no money and I NEED this TV.

I NEED IT!!

Can we have a whip round? Say 20p per each active member, that should be enough. I'd be well happy :D
