Samsung C34J791 vs AW3418DW

Considering between these two monitors - any suggestions?

I don't play any FPS games, when I get the chance it's really just the odd RTS but 95% of the time will be work stuff.

I'm thinking the Samsung but appreciate any thoughts...

I've ordered a C34J791. I take it you have a GTX 1000/2000 series NVidia card and want adaptive sync, hence the toss up between a FreeSync and GSync monitor?

From what I've gathered, it's only the Samsung C34J791 and the much more expensive/high spec LG 34GK950F that have FreeSync with GSync-compatibility working without a hitch on 34" 3440x1440 monitors.

The AW and Samsung monitors usually wouldn't be all that directly comparable due to one being FreeSync and the other being GSync. I suppose it boils down to 100 hz vs 120 hz, VA vs IPS panel, and price, with the Samsung having the advantage on price and being able to run both AMD and NVidia cards with adaptive sync, while the AW can only sync Nvidia cards.

I'll know more when my C34J791 arrives, especially regarding how it compares to my current IPS 34".

I’ve got a bit of a weird planned setup. Currently use a 13” MBP for pure work and also have a dell XPS15 which I might pair with an eGPU which I could put either an amd or Nvidia card in.

Main need for screen is productivity & work but being able to game a little would be a bonus...
