I bought a Samsung Q7F back in 2017. When first setting it up it seemed to detect my HDMI sources and would display Fire TV and Xbox One icon on the source screen. All seemed good.
Then a week or so later it just changed to showing them as "Unknown", it was disappointing but not a big deal. Although it did stop the ability to control other devices using the tv remote.
However i've now just bought a Samsung soundbar (Q800T), and it seems that it's also not detecting the soundbar when connected to the Arc HDMI input. As such i'm having to use the optical input as a temporary measure. However i believe i lose some functionality with that and more importantly i need that for another device.
It worth noting that when i go into the Smartthings app it shows the soundbar as paying audio from the HDMI arc channel, although i suspect that is just because that's the port it can detect a cable is connected to.
Has anyone experienced similar issues or has any idea on how to resolve it?
I'm going to give RS a call when they open, but hoped someone may have directly tried some fixes too.
