Hey, new to forum

I'm currently about to pull the trigger on the OC Battlebox here:
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-gaming-battlebox-essential-intel-core-i5-8400-4.0ghz-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-fs-1b6-og.html?template=amp

Spec:
Intel Core i5-8400 4.0GHz, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 250GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Graphics

I initially wanted two monitors (currently have no pc set up at home ) but I've seen those heavily discounted pre order.

Samsung LS34J550WQUXEN 34-Inch LED Monitor - Dark Blue/Grey

Spec :
Freesync
4ms
75hz

I have absolutely no idea if this is suitable. I'm not a pro gamer, I'll be playing mostly things like BeamNG, survival games, things like fallout and GTA maybe . Fast paced FPS won't be something I play often.

Is this screen sufficient? I know that freesync is AMD and the graphics card is NVidia so guessing this won't work. Am I likely to see screen tearing? Is 4ms and 75hz ok for casual gamer such as myself ?

I particularly like this display for aesthetics and also I am a keen photographer so it will be amazing to edit photos on.

Screen tearing is probably what I want to avoid the most.

Keen to hear thoughts as I don't want to miss the price !

It depends on your priorities. You will get screen tearing, but to what extent it's hard to say. If you want to avoid that the MOST, then you should look to a G-Sync display... but you won't get that if your monitor budget is around £300.

Furthermore, it should be pointed out that this Samsung monitor has a VA panel, so not exactly optimal if you're a keen photographer and require colour accuracy. You ideally want an IPS monitor for that, which is certainly achievable on your budget (BenQ do some good value 1440p IPS monitors that would do the job well, although ultrawide might be a stretch), but again, you won't get G-Sync.

Thanks for the advice. I think aside from the size being what I want for the room it doesn't really fit well with my requirements then.

I do need widescreen or a dual monitor set up for when working from home and don't want to spend more than 300 total ideally so will have to consider other options I guess.

If you're at your overall budget ceiling, you could build a system yourself for less than that pre-built one, therefore being able to put more towards a monitor.

It's a consideration but I find it a little overwhelming as I've never built a pc before, that and the warranty aspect so will probably buy it built.

Looks u likely a decent suitable g sync is in budget so with that in mind what should I be looking for in terms of spec for casual gaming ?

Hz, FPS, etc?
