Samsung Fridge on the blink

Hey all we got one of those american style big samsung fridge.

For a while it was making a weird noise so I tried my best to clean off the ice on the sensors. About 2 months later the fridge/freezer wasn't right. The freezer contents were just too frozen then the temperature display started flashing.


Then in the morning the fridge was more warm than cold. I see all lights on but it just doesn't work sounds like it does. But too warm.

We had a flood here due to a pipe burst a week ago. I'm not 100% sure that no water went into the fridge but if it did it def damaged it. Lost all of my food too totally gone off!

Anyway got home insurance should be kosher - but anyone know much about these fridges? what can I do to test it?What should I tell the insurance company?
 
My parents have a Samsung fridge/freezer, which is the same type as yours, and have had it since 2006. A few months ago it developed exactly the same fault that you're talking about - the ice build up, the noise, the flashing temperature display, the warm temperature. It was repaired several times to no avail. They replaced all the parts that were known to fail, as many of these Samsung fridges have become faulty. It was useless so my parents bought a temporary cheap fridge, and have been using that since.

Eventually they managed to arrange Samsung to come and take it away, and they're going to replace it with a newer model. They're coming tomorrow, so the fridge is standing downstairs waiting to be removed.

I hope this is of some help to you. If it's unable to be repaired you might be able to get a newer replacement for free, like my parents have done. The fridge wasn't in warranty or its extended warranty (they extended the warranty because there were so many faulty units).

how and where did your parents extend the guarantee?
 
easy! i can really help on this one, same fridge, same problem, THEY APPROACHED ME, SENT ENGINEER, AND FIXED IT. TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR THE GUYS IS08457267864 option 2. You need to have your serial number, and its a free call out.

I don't know if we got warranty or not tis been 5 years.
 
was a manufacturers fault, mine was out of warranty, they acknowledge its their fault.

thanks ffs these ppl are killing me
rang 2 times got cut off twice proper annoying

woman on the phone keeps telling my model number is wrong ffs I got a picture of it and I am right.
 
****a tis out of warranty
the model I got RS20CCMS has a 2 year warranty
the 21 model has 3 years and then 2 extended

this is a nightmare!
