Hi guys

Any thoughts on this monitor? I have a 27GP950 on order but have seen a lot off people complaining that they are experiencing issues.

I have been looking for a 4k high refresh rate monitor with HDMI 2.1 for a while now. It will be used for both PC (3080) and PS5. Anything I should look out for with either panel, significant advantages/ disadvantages?

thanks

I seen a review of this the other day and i like the design and look of it and the specifications are the same as the LG apart from only the G7 only having HDR 400 and not HDR 600 but i don't see that as a big deal personally.

The review i seen on youtube.

I am personally using the Gigabyte M28U 4K monitor but if the Samsung G7 was out at the time i would have give one a shot.

I am pretty happy with it Phunky it's not perfect but then no monitor is, input 11ms may seem a little high but i don't find it noticeable at all. The overdrive settings could do with some tweaking, i am currently running with it turned off for best results and minimal overshoot.

Thanks  i'm looking at this, the 32" version or the new G7 once any of them become available...

I was tempted to order one when I saw it at the above place, but will hold out for a bit longer to see if it'll come into stock directly with a corporate discount (usually around 10%) since I'll be away from home for a week or two anyway.

Got the G7 today and am over the moon with it. Was fed up of waiting on the 27GP950 and stumbled on the new Samsung model. So far it’s doing great!

4k is not the be all and end all, it is lower HZ (which will be less smooth), it is a IPS with poorer blacks/contrast and smaller in size so for me yes.

Added to going by they did not learn by the previous G7/G9 issues on new G9 I doubt this is any better as their QA is poor.

Yeah for you it would be a downgrade but for those looking for the features the new G7 offers there isn't a vast amount of options currently available.

I got retuned the 32" G7 last year and have a 32" 1440p 165HZ LG VA now, it is basic but has no faults and will do till something better come along.

Just recalled I should report back here. I was after a new monitor (migrating back from UW), and with the limited stock on Gigabyte and Asus / LG being too expensive I went for the G7 28" also.

Been fantastic so far. There is some light bleed if you have all the lights off in the room and a completely black screen. I have Hue Plays behind my monitor though so that ambient light helps eliminate that (I've turned off the core-sync lighting on the monitor itself). Only gripe is that I wish it had at least some tiny speakers, useful for work and hearing when someone is calling.

It's also chunkier than I imagined it would be, very dense bit of kit. Happy to answer any q's
