The government here in Jersey are sending £ 100 vouchers to every islander in September to be spent locally in order to help local businesses.

I’m thinking about spending mine on some Samsung Galaxy Buds to use with my Motorola Moto G8 Power. What is the difference between the Buds and the Buds+ ?

Also can they be used with iPhones or is it Android only?

Decided to go for the Buds+ which are the latest version with longer battery life etc. They’re £ 149 at my local supplier and £ 132.50 on Amazon. After my £ 100 voucher they’ll be £ 49.

Seen some on Amazon marketplace for as low as £ 90 but I think they’re fake.

Well Amazon themselves now have them for £ 90.82 ex VAT in a nice blue color to match my blue phones so they’re not fake. I’ll spend the £ 100 voucher on something else. Not going to spend £ 149 on them even with the £ 100 off.

Somewhat strangely the Buds+ from Amazon themselves have gone back up in price to £ 132.50 ex VAT. They put me on a one month Prime trial and sent the Buds+ today via Special Delivery which should be here tomorrow.

I am reassured they are not fake as Amazon don’t sell fake goods, had they come from one of the marketplace sellers still selling at the lower price then I would not be so sure.

You've been reassured wrong. In the warehouse all the marketplace/Amazon products are just lumped into one big pool of stock so you may get fakes you may not depending on if any of the marketplace sellers are selling knockoffs.

Just checked a video on YouTube how to tell fake ones from real ones. If they’re fakes I’ll return them to Amazon.

It's all about getting the right fit then they sound great. These have replaced my Jaybird's as my regular earbuds.
It's not exactly hard to fit the buds into your ears. I'm afraid the sound quality is simply very poor considering the asking price. That seems to be par for the course for earbuds in general though unfortunately. If you want something that sounds decent you have to stick to earphones for now until they improve the technology.

Received the Buds+ from Amazon today. They're genuine, I can tell by the serial number on the box, its on the left on the genuine and right on the fakes see here...

On mine its on the left, so genuine. Also the buds themselves are neatly packaged in the box which is another giveaway. Can those of you complaining about the quality be sure you weren't sold fakes?

Only buy them if you have no interest in sound quality. I've had £10 earphones which sound better.

I got round to setting them up today, I had a good listen to them for an hour or so and would describe them as crisp. They don’t wow you but they’re ok in my opinion. I’d rate them 8/10.

They're decent enough, however given the current situation I'd probably look for something that also works with Windows, Teams / Zoom calls and stuff like that, because Galaxy Buds don't.

I've gone through decent headphones in the £40-60 quid range and the Galaxy Buds are comparable.

Ignore him.

I am not surprised. Finding earphones with good sound quality is an absolute minefield and you can easily spend that money and end up with rubbish.

Helpful post. For what its worth my opinion is not in the minority. Here's what Whathifi had to say:
The Galaxy Buds sound more or less equivalent to a pair of cheap in-ears - and not even a particularly good pair. Even taking into account the Samsung’s ‘true wireless’ practicality, the sound quality is very much at odds with the £139 price. Sound 2/5.

They gave the original buds 2/5 for sound the buds+ got 3/5.
