Hello all,

Last night my phone worked just fine, I locked it and put it safely in my pocket, only to get it out 10 minutes later and the phone would not respond to anything at all. The screen just stays black no matter what I do and there is no lights or anything happening no matter what I try (tried the several combinations of buttons with volume down + home, volume down + power etc etc. , also charging the phone does not do anything at all).

I have had this phone for about 1.5 years now and never had any big issues. A few weeks ago I did notice though that a few times when i put it on to charge it would sometimes not charge instantly or go on and off charge a few times so this might be a minor clue of what is wrong with the phone.

Could it perhaps be a battery issue? Having looked up how to replace the battery for this phone it seems quite a hassle sadly but I really wouldn't want to waste money on a new phone if it could have been solved by just replacing the battery ofcourse.

If anyone has any tips or advice that would be greatly appreciated.

My S6 Edge has done this when it's gone flat over night. Its done it a couple times now and i find that for the first 10% it's chargers really slow...i mean REALLY slow. It's like fast charge hasn't kicked it.

What i do is leave it in for an hour to get some charge and then i toggle the fast charge on/off - that seem to help with the fast charge.

I've also had it when the mains has been plugged in to the phone while powering it on, it won't stay alive for more than 10 seconds and switches off. Not sure if it's a safety feature to get the battery cells charged before it chargers normally.

The phone was on about 90% battery life when this happened so I am quite sure it didnt go flat, but it does not respond at all either when I plug it in to charge, both on like a normal charger or my usb wire connected to a pc / laptop. It just went from working perfectly fine to not responding to anything at all and I am quite confused what the cause could be to be honest.
