I have one of these and while on SD its brilliant HD content from Quicktime 7 Pro to the TV via VGA seems to have tearing during action sequences like on slow 'ms' cheap LCD's is this a common problem? it doesnt notice on small resolutions just on 720p.

I don't get any tearing on my sammy M61 via vga, ok not the same screen but I wouldn't have thought you should get it on any panel no matter how cheap if the frequency is in synch with the monitors native preferred rate. You do have the PC set to 60hz?

Also is 720p the native res for the LCD, my sammy is 1360*768 so when I run HD content or any content for that matter I upscale to that res, so higher than 720p. If you're outputting at 720p and the native res is higher then you forcing the LCD to upscale to the native res or to run at a non -native res.

Sounds like you need the firmware update. Give samsung a ring and they'll send you the kit to do it.
