Hi I hope someone more knowledgable can help.I have a Samsung 22" monitor and up to last week was running fine on my Acer L320..had a problem with that and had to use my laptop for a few days and connected the monitor to the lap top.

Yesterday reconnected the monitro back to the Acer and it wont detect the digital signal, when I go into the settings it only shows up as analogue.when I try it with the digital cable only I only get a message check cable

Would installing the drivers help this.

Running Vista premium

Hope I have made this clear enough any advice would be welcomed.

The problem with the Acer was not related to the video card and it was fine until using it on lap top

Thanks in advance

So if you plug it back into the laptop it works over digital? If so then it's obviously not the cable. I don't think installing the drivers will make any difference it should automatically detect it.

Only thing I can think of, is there a button on the monitor to switch sources? Maybe it's looking for analog when you have the digital cable connected and you need to tell it to use the digital connection

possibly broken TFT

@ work we had a samsung 223bw fail in that manner, when samsung delivered the replacement it had the same fault! Good job Samsung has its 3 year on site warranty. The other fault it had that seemed to be linked was that the VGA signal that stayed working did not detect using DCC correctly and we had to force the resolution.
