looks sexy!

how easy it to switch ram?

i know it'll be a push, but if possible, can you let me know how cs3 or vegas works on it?

cheers with envy :)

sure no problem

ram and hdd are easy, 3 screws to expose both, swap the ram out and remove caddy and sata adapter (it turns the power and data connections through 90 degrees) and bobs your uncle :)

wow looks impressive!

Dont know if you saw my last question, but could you please let me know what the speaker quality is like and if there is a sim slot (probably behind the battery)

Thanks

theres no simcard slot i knew that before I bought it but wouldnt use it anyway, bt via my mobile is perfectly good for me :) will let you know about sound.

just trying to get a few things setup and hopefully ill be away, the only thing win 7 didnt pick up was something to do with the chipset (available from nvidia) and the wifi wasnt recognised other than that it was plain sailing

as far as sound goes I dont find it much different to my old nc10 tbh, maybe a little bit more bass but its never gonna be great, its certainly not bad tho, if i recall its a bit louder than nc10

just installed vista, and im still needing to get a few drivers, couldnt get my printer to work under 7 but still may go back to it, just wanted to try vista, vista scores are

3.1 - CPU
4.5 - MEM
5.9 - Aero
4.4 - Gaming
5.6 - HDD

Seems pretty swift in vista too

So, the size 'seems' the same as a 10.1"? Not a big enough increase to make life easier on the eye etc?

oh no sorry, its definately noticible and easier especially for my old eyes :D probs best to compare them side by side really unfortunately I dont have my nc10 anymore

how's it going so far?
is the performance good, battery life?

ive not tried the battery yet tbh, as it will only really move from desk at home to desk at work so will be running it on the mains in order to preserve the battery as long as possible, tried a few games and its not really upto much then again I didnt expect it to be, it would have been nice to have been able to play TF2 with acceptable fps but seems not, well at least not under 7, i may stick xp back on and give that a bash when i get a moment, in a very strange way i feel somehow slightly dissapointed with it, don't get me wrong its a lovely piece of kit but its not the step up from the nc10 i had been hoping for

that's a shame, maybe you were thinking that the ion would do wonders?
try not forget that this isn't a notebook, its a netbook still, and maybe you'll feel a bit better.

yeah, its still the cpu thats the weak link so not blaming the ion dont get be wrong its still nice, the build quality is superb, the keyboard is great and the touchpad is just about right

This is my worry about upgrading my mini 1000 to an ION, I keep tellimg myself I need it for the 1360x768 screen but other than that I cant see it being much of an upgrade.

Did you try TF2 in DX8 mode? that might make it playable

No i didnt try that actually, i wasnt aware you even could

hmm its greyed out on this possibly cause im on win 7?

cheers for that, im just doing a battery drain test now, showing 4.5hours from a fully charged battery, hmmmm i thought it would be more than that having said that its on 7 without any of the "samsung optimisations"

However anyone wanting to get one will be happy to know the xp version of easydisplay to control the fn + keys works a treat, my wlan card is a Realtek RTL8192E as thats the only device needed that doesnt auto install/detect, the lan detects and the wifi is installed via windows updates fine, you also need the nvidia ion chipset and vga drivers to be installed and your good to go!
