Ive been chuffed with my little nc10 since i got it in Nov 08 but ive got the urge to upgrade the wireless card inside it.

Ive heared people have used an intel 5300 and also a Gigabyte N300 with success can anyone confirm these work with windows 7 also?

How hard was it to replace??

Well the ethernet port only goes up to 100Mbit and i was thinking i could get better speeds and without a cable by getting a 300Mbit N card.

Transfering files across between laptop-pc the onboard wifi is struggling to transmit over 2MByte/s.

Im guessing a 300Mbit N card will always achieve better results than a wired 100Mbit if the signal is strong ?

It will indeed.

Not in my experience.

the fastest speed i've ever gotten with Wireless-N was 9MB/s (and fluctuating up and down like the knickers on an indecisive hooker) and these were both Intel N-Certified wireless adapters (a 5300 and a 6300) both with triple antennae at close range with LoS.

100Mb-Ethernet will give you 12.5MB/s all the time every time :)
