Samsung NC10

Rather good news on that front I think. Google for NC10 and OSX

"i got this working with iatkos 10.5.4.. had to change wireless card - using dell 1450 wireless card. "

so what do you guys think is better, msi wind 6cell, samsung nc10 or asus eee 1000h?

Please be aware that the MSI Wind are no longer fitting Synaptics touchpads into there netbooks anymore. They are using flaky sentilic touchpads with less functions.

The winds can suffer from noisy fans and harddrives, or in the case of mine complete system failure.

If i was you i would go for the Samsung or 1000h.

ah I see. I already own a 1000h, but was thinking of swapping it for a samsung. What d'ya think?

The differences;

Asus

80GB HDD
£320 (ish)
2 year warranty

Samsung

160GB HDD
£300 (ish)
sim card reader
1 year warranty

Both come with

10.2" (1024x600)
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
6 cell bettery
Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz
Bluetooth
Wireless LAN
Card reader
1.3 MegaPixel camera
3 x USB
VGA
Windows XP

I dont think there are any full reviews out at the moment for the NC10, so it may be worth waiting for them.

In my opinion the Samsung looks nicer, it's cheaper, but has a smaller warranty.

If the reviews are favourable, i'm going to buy the samsung.

Rawlyn, one other thing... :)

Can you confirm that it comes with a protective case/sleeve?

Seen pictures showing one but specifications do not mention of it.

Yeah it does come with a Samsung embroided slip case, but it's more like a dust cover really as it will offer no cushioning against being dropped because it is just thin material.

Yeah it's a strange little case really, it is only made out of suede.

Samsung came in today and said that they will be releasing a 3G HSDPA version possibly next month or Jan so wouldn't have thought that it would work.

Well the slot is already there on my Samsung NC10, i can't see it being a problem adding a appropriate 3g card in the future.

Picture of mine.
