I'm attempting a Windows 7 installation for this laptop for a friend, as they had managed to bugger up Windows 8 within a mere 2 hours of using it but am hitting some unusual problems with it booting.
I have disabled secure boot and set it to legacy mode and have managed to install Windows 7, but when booting the machine up once powered down or on restarting, the BIOS is seemingly unable to find the HDD to boot from and just sits there on a black screen
Pop into BIOS using F2 and boot manually from HDD and everything loads as it should.
I'm a little stuck here despite scratching my head for a few hours, and haven't had the same problem on any other system I've replaced with Windows 7 either.
Anyone have any ideas?
