I have a Samsung Np700z laptop that kind of half died a while ago, one eve the screen would not light up but the machine would run and if a light was held to the screen you could see it was working but not in effect backlit, a friend fitted a new samsung screen and this made no difference, if the machine is plugged into a separate monitor it works fine , although not terribly convenient. I want to use it now and after trawling forums settled on changing the lead to the screen, I bought a "new " Samsung lead from EBay only to receive a used item , I tried it anyway but the same issue persists, the machine starts ok , you can see Samsung faintly appear on a dark screen and then you can enter the password etc but the screen remains very dark, without any backlighting, anyone have any ideas, thanks Bill.
