Samsung odessy 27" picture mode ?

Hi i have a samsung odessy 27 inch monitor and my question is when i play a game i can adjust the picture with picture mode but some games grey out the picture mode mode and i can only adjust brightness and contrast - i tried looking it up and all i can see is that people are saying picture mode will grey out if a HDR signal is being sent but i have HDR turned off in windows - it does not happen if i have freesync turned off but i like to use freesync - i had another simular samsung monitor and this was not a problem - any help would be appreciated ?
 
Try enabling HDR in Windows setting and then set the HDR brightness slider and switch HDR off again, just in case when HDR in game is on it's still trying to use the windows HDR brightness

you can't change any settings with freesync on turn it off. i turned g sync off and it's been perfect.
