Hey guys,

I yesterday installed my new Odyssey G5 monitor..but, I had trouble getting the stand on..

It’s also very tight when trying to move the screen back, and slowly over a period of about 10 minutes, it slides forward to the lowest point so the screen is tilted way way down.

in the assembly, there is a bit of black tape on the rotating drum thing, covering two screws, do I peel that off? Or is it supposed to stay on there?

I’m not sure if that is the culprit when tilting the screen?

Sorry to thread steal, but I'm looking to by the 32 inch G5.

Would you recommend it?

NP mate, glad to give a bit of help / info if possible :)

I think its a good solid monitor. No dead pixels or much BLB, though YMMV..

The only real gripe I have though is the base, one, its not adjustable, only tilt, and two, when pushing the monitor back it slowly, slowly creeps back down, a few people have had this issue from what I can gather..

But I bought good monitor arm for a steal for the 75mm VESA mounting it uses, and its terrific.

Happy with it but my monitor but doesn't stay in the same position. Sort of slowly tilts down.

If theres no solution I might return it.

yeah that's what bothered me, but I bought a good monitor arm off the rainforest with 40% off aswell

And taken the dodgy stand out of the equation, which lets me keep using the G5, which im glad as I do like it, its a great allrounder.

I think I can tolerate the issuse for a few weeks and then might get a good vesa stand.

First time with a curved screen and for the first hour I hated it. Loving it now though.

yeah the curved screens are great when you adapt to them.

when I go back to my tv it looks like it’s curving away from you lol! Plays tricks with your eyes the curved screen does! :D

Hey how goos is your 144hz monitor?
Im looking to upgrade soon

it should defiantly be on your list to look at. its a quality monitor for the money.

the only real issue with it though, is the stand that comes with it isnt versatile for adjustments, only tilt, and the stand creeps forward and have to keep pushing it back..

i got a monitor arm and now am really pleased with my setup.

I am sure it will be better than my crappy 25 inch 60hz BenQ.
How much was it?

I went to the rainforest and searched for VESA mounts..there are plenty to choose from, just make sure that the clamp and weight support for the monitor are adequate..

Great monitor, just the standard stand sucks!
