Samsung Odyssey G9 or LG 38GL950G, your thoughts?

To be used primarily for gaming although I am a keen amateur photography so colour accuracy is also important. As I understand it, both these monitors stand up well when it comes to that, so I'm primarily asking what your thoughts are between these two when it comes to gaming. They're virtually identical price-wise, but that's where the similarity ends so I'd like to hear people's opinions on them and if you have first hand experience then so much the better.

I guess these two monitors aren't the most popular for the vast majority of people. Nobody has any thoughts?

Each has technical shortcomings and each has strengths the other does not, its honestly down to personal opinion. I cant stand the extreme curve and dislike the 32:9 aspect ratio of the G9, to say nothing of the potential gamble of flickering. For me the LG is much more appealing although if you play games primarily in the dark you may be turned off by its lower contrast. Plus this particular model has a small active fan that could go bad/get noisy some years down the road. Pixel response should be comparable between the two, HDR should be comparable (better than HDR400 but both still solidly mediocre compared to HDR1000). The LG will have the edge in color accuracy.
