I threw a low bid on an auction (not eBay) for a SAMSUNG C49HG90DMU and won, but it's apparently literally just the unit.

I'm waiting to see when it arrives, but can anyone advise on a stand/arm for it? There seem to be many problems with arms losing their tilt due to the weight?

Can you simply buy the regular monitor stand?

Do I need to buy a VESA adaptor?

Thanks!

Nope, it's unit only, it's not a boxed item. This is the image they show -

Tbh, I think I made a mistake. I knew they added 25% 'Premium' and then VAT, but with delivery too the final price almost doubled. It's maybe only £200 than I could have got second hand on eBay and I also have the hassle of no stand or adapter. I guess, if I bought on eBay, I would still want an arm mount, so I suppose I might only be paying for the adapter over what I would from eBay.

I'm looking at one of these, then I think I just need the adapter.

I'm not certain they're sold separately
Yeah, I can find 3D printed ones, which I'm not overly keen on. I have seen metal ones too, not sure I've seen them for sale. I have mailed the arm company to see if they sell them.
The reason I say this is that with a heavy monitor like that, it's going to bounce around all over the place as your desk moves.
I get what you're syaing, the one listed is specifically for weights as this and as said above, apparently works fine. I do have visions of it breaking the desktop though

**EDIT** If anyone knows where I can buy the regular mount, maybe I should start there and see.

Also, I assume I will need power. Can anyone give me the part # for their's?

**EDIT2** Almost more for my own records, the arm company linked me to this original part, which is generally cheaper than 3D printed buy a long way.

Some great info, thanks. I do wonder, as it's a standing desk I've ordered, maybe it wont be sturdy enough. It's not a cheap desk though. I did wonder about one off eBay or something, but I went Herman Miller in the end. We'll see. I'm not really buying it to be able to move the monitor around, more because I don't have ANY stand and I like the desk space arms give. If I have to prop it up in some way, maybe I can do that.

PS: I couldn’t find my VESA mount adaptor in all the boxes so bought one from the link you were given also, arrived quickly and worked fine.

Guess what I found the very next day while looking for something else…
Good to know. So... you have a spare VESA adaptor knocking about still? :D

So... it turns out it came with a stand... but only just! I noticed the shipping email said two items. Expecting just the screen, I thought this was a little odd. The delivery guy arrived, with just the screen. I asked if there is just the one item as the email said two, he checked, off he went and came back with the stand!

I'll stick with that for now, but maybe have the arm on a wishlist for later perhaps.

If your going to mount this at a later date you will need this bracket to attach to the monitor https://imgur.com/gallery/DNqUZwa .which will allow you to attach an arm to it.
Yes...

Already done that discussion

I've installed DisplayFusion which has some nice options for setting up virtual screens and changing between them with shortcuts.
