Right this happened before when I wanted to install new nvidia drivers for my 4080. As usual, I enabled safe boot for a DDU clean but with this new monitor, a standby mode message appears before it loops again to that message. Tried turning every power setting off in the monitor menu and nothing worked. So just before I packed it all up to return, I tried my old monitor that is a generic 4k and voila, windows in safe mode and no issues. I uninstalled the drivers using DDU and then re-installed the new one. Disabled safe mode and restarted the pc. Swapped it back to the Neo g7 and no problems seeing windows again.
My money is on the safe mode disabling the gpu drivers and the new monitor not detecting an input.
Anyway, I tried going back to safe mode again to install the new Nvidia drivers (released as of 18th July) and exactly the same thing has happened with the monitor going into standby loop. This time however I do not have another monitor to swap this out with so I am kind of stuck lol.
Anybody had any issue like this before and able to solve it?
When the first time it happened, I swapped between 4 different HDMI cables and 3 DP cables from 1.2 to 1.4 to 2.1. I also changed the power brick of the monitor (I have 2 of these) so these probably are the run of the mill solutions I have come across the web anyway.
I would probably have to buy another low key monitor to get this sorted but surely there is something missing because going into safe mode should not do this to any monitor.
