Well talk about regret, Took the update today to One UI 7 and it (in my opinion) blows.

Anyone know a way to downgrade that doesn't require root? I'd quite like my secure apps to still work (i.e. online banking, authenticators, signed app store).

I wouldnt say its driving me to downgrade but there are a few really stupid decisions.

bluetooth on/connected icon? yeah we hid that unless you swipe down.

shortcut toggles? yeah it now takes 3 swipes down to see them.

wifi and bluetooth toggles? yeah we gave them their own huge section that takes up the space of all those pesky other useful toggles we've now hidden.

lockscreen music/podcast app? yeah we've shrunk it down so its barely usable and shoved it to the bottom of the screen so its awkward to press any buttons.

Actually I'm hating this more now I think about it...

I used to have youtube background play quite a bit, Conveniently at the top to scrub through the track playing, nope, now between the phone and camera at the bottom.

Shortcuts - Yep same issue, multi swipes to get to it.

Bluetooth i hadn't noticed but now equally as annoyed.

I don't mind changes, if you give me some control over how my device looks. Good-Lock doesn't cut it with customisation.

Being autistic this is driving me insane tonight. I hadn't realised how much of a graphical change this was going to be. Sigh

I tried good lock but it didn't do what i expected it to i.e. let me change the size and position of "stuff"

It does however let you fit more toggles on 1 row if you shrink the space between them, so there's that

I updated yesterday and now my screen stays permanently on after I assume im getting a notification. It kept waking me up last night having the bedroom lit up so had to keep pressing the power button to turn it off.

As above , I ready don't like the quick access changes. One side for settings one side for notifications. It was perfect before.

You can change it back, the other issues above stay but at least you don't have the 2 sides thing

I've updated recently and don't really have many issues....except battery drain.

S22 Ultra with power saving used to indicate 9+hrs SOT. Now down to 7hrs.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I think so (S23U) I'd put it down to the usual thing that happens after you update where lots of stuff is sorting itself out so battery can get hammered for a day or so, but I do think I'm charging more often now.

OneUI 7 on the phone (S25) is fine.

On the tablet (Tab S8) on the other hand, it just hasn't been thought through properly. Just as an example, in landscape mode, I can't put icons to the far left or right column of the desktop (why?!)
I can't grow the icons as big as OneUI 6 either.....

I don't like when I have YouTube in the background, it shows it's notification and then other apps show a dot.

I also use clock widgets and they removed transparent.

I changed the quick toggles back slightly so I can see more toggles.

Overall a bad update.

Since the update my phone keeps unlocking itself in my pocket or when hold it even though it needs a finger print. I used to have this problem on my S21, gutted it's now on this.

Some good news regarding battery life. Things seemed to have settled down for me and Accubattery is now indicating that I will get almost 9hrs of SoT from a charge. As I said above, this was down to 7 at one point.

I'm hoping it will return to the 9+hrs I had before the update.

Put this on my phone, looks ok. Currently just don't like the battery indicator top right.

Edit - didn't fix my widget issue though, where they sneak onto the main screen from the right hand side. No idea why it does this.

Had a few noticeable issues on my S23+. WhatsApp sometimes is slow to open, end up pressing the icon 3 or 4 times before it will open.

Downloaded a pdf and knew I'd need it later so added it to my home screen. Try and open it from my home screen and get an error pop up saying unable to open app.

Battery drain is noticeable higher when I have poor signal to, which unfortunately for me has been my current and previous house :/.
