I have a Samsung SM226BW but I can't get into the OSD any more. It used to be accessible and I'm wondering if I've somehow locked it. I've tried all the generic ways of getting it but I can't seem to get it back. Any ideas?

Magictune works fine for doing the same thing, but I'd rather have it on the monitor. All I get when I press the buttons now is brightness up and down, and the source button.

TIA

Have you tried holding down the Menu button for 10 seconds?

Are all the options greyed out or does it say Locked in the bottom-left?

In Nvidia Control Panel, try setting the resolution & refresh rate to something different and then switch back.

Menu button down just puts the brightness up.

Changing the resolution does nothing, changing the PC does nothing, changing from DVI to VGA does nothing. There is no message saying it's locked. Perhaps it's faulty?

It doesn't look like you are going to get much help here.

I assume you have tried the driver download from here? Although I'm not sure how much good it'll do.

I would suggest giving Samsung an email directly (available on the linked page) - you'll probably get a faster and more accurate response.

Thanks.

I assumed since it was a very popular monitor, more people may have experienced this. It seems I was wrong.

EDIT: OK, submitted a question to their support. Let's hope they're quick to reply. Don't really want to have to RMA because of the panel lottery and the fact I could be without a monitor for a while. I believe that Samsung are not replacing these models but are waiting for them to be repaired and sending back refurbished ones. There seems to be a lot being sent back now due to power board failures because of cheap capacitors.

I got in touch with samsung in the end and they directed me to Amkotron, their repair company. They can't guarantee any particular panel, so I've kept it for now.
