Samsung P2270 Stand query

Well it arrived yesterday aso i eargerly wired it up and waited with bated breath.

First impressions, wow it's bright but i figured i would tinker with the settings later. The other impression i got was how similar in looks it was to my old 2032BW.

Anyway next impression was oh **** 2 dead or stuck pixels right in the middle of the screen. Needless to say it's back in the box awaiting a DHL pickup :(

Definetly a replacement it's seems to be a very good monitor.

I was a little dissapointed in the looks, wait no that's not eactly true. Because it looks so like my old monitor there was a certain feeling of it doesn't look that much like a new monitor, looks wise it was fine and i like the blue glow from the lower section.

The picture quality looked to be excellent, i think it was set a little too bright but when i plugged my old monitor back in i realised how dull my one was and that was with brightness set to 100.

So for the price i paid i would say excellent monitor ........ dam those dead pixels

Well it seems that you like the most important aspects of it and would just love to have another one without the dead pixels. :D The B2230H does have a pretty powerful backlight for a 22 incher. I personally like a really scorching brightness when gaming but I do think that the default brightness settings are a bit high for most things. I always find going back to my 2032BW after testing other newer and better monitors quite disturbing. When I first got the 2032BW I thought it was lovely and it was actually the first LCD I had personally owned - but it just goes to show how things move on.

HDMI carries audio signals as well as video, but the quality of the image will be exactly the same. When connecting it to a PC just use whichever cable you have to hand. The advantage of HDMI is that it can look a little neater at the back and is easier to connect but really since the B2230H comes with a DVI cable this is all you need.

Yeah i have one of either but the DVI was obviously in place from my old monitor so i just used that to test it.
Anyway that's it on it's way back now so hopefully will have the replacement by early next week.
Thanks again for your help and advice

PCM2, would you recommend the ViewSonic VX2250WM or VX2450WM over the Samsung P2350 ? I'd be using it for gaming and office work.
