samsung panel lottery

I read a lot about the samsung sm226bw having a panel lottery and you can't be sure which type you will get, is this still the case?
Also what about the pebble monitors released by samsung do the have the panel lottery to? I want to get a new screen for gaming and I heard good things about the sm226bw until I read about this panel lottery, I would much appreciate any advice that can be given.

Yes, The Pebble range is also Victim to the panel lottery, but having said that the last three pebble models I've had from retailers were all samsung panels, refurbs from Samsung on the other hand could be anything.

Having finally got ahold of two Samsung panels, I must say they're great displays, but viewing angels could be better as well as the stands used in the pebble range.

If you know of a local store selling the monitor it might be worth going there your self and checking out the display models.

will explain how to check for Panel versions, I did this without any problems during my visit to the land of the pink shirts and with some luck it was indeed a Samsung panel and that's what i also got at home : D it's also worth checking at what price their charging now: p because at the time it was cheaper than OCUK, but that could have just been the sales.
