Does anyone rock the Samsung Q9FN ?

I'm tempted to buy the 75 inch version.

I note it has freesync version but im rocking a 2080. Would it then make sense to get a Radeon VII?

I assume Gsync doesn't work over HDMI? Any thoughts?

Or better options on tVs?

OLED is out of the question as I 'abuse' my TVs.

Right now, no, Nvidia doesn't support Freesync over HDMI, but it does over Display Port. In the future, with TVs supporting VRR, it's likely that both Nvidia & AMD will support that VRR, but neither have HDMI 2.1 cards yet so we don't know for sure. Mind you, the 4K range for Freesync on the TV is 48-60, which imo is meh and if you use a receiver you'll not have it pass through. Since you already have a 2080 it's definitely not worth a change to a VII unless you can do it for free, or near that.

One thing you should know about the QLEDs is that they're gimped for PC usage. Gimped Chroma, gimped FALD algorithm (to keep input lag down), gimped pwm etc. What you're reading in reviews and how it's praised will not be reflected in PC usage. Refer to this post here about some more details.

Ultimately it comes down to personal preference & price, but I avoid Samsung for those reasons since I use my TV as my monitor as well.

Would you really want to buy an expensive TV without HDMI 2.1 this close to it going mainstream? Too many benefits to lose out on if you use it with a PC imo. I'd only do it for a completely insane deal.
