I have ordered a Samsung Q990B soundbar. I have a small living room and TV is placed at the corner of the room. May I know where should I place the rear speakers facing the people sitting on the 3 + 2 seater sofa?

Please see room layout in the attached picture. Shall Im place the rear speakers at locations 1 and 5 or some where else?

Also can you please suggest a good 2.1 HDMI switcher with 5 inputs and 1 output? The Q990B has only 2 HDMI inputs.

Also I am looking for rear speaker stands for the Samsung Q990B Sound Bar. Atleast 1.5 mtr or even taller. Any idea where to get this? Budget 100 euro

Why so tall, seems really high.

Eono Speaker Stand goes to around 110cm, not seen anything for 150cm.

I was adviced by someone that the rear speaker should be higher by 1 foot above the listeners ear level. ear level ht + 1 foot

Is this wrong information?

You want the speakers at ear level.

The vebos one is above my budget. I would have a look at the Eono Speaker Stand.

What about people sitting at locations 2 and 5? Would the speaker not be too closer to their ears?

I got this message from samsung support regarding the rear speaker height.

For the rear speakers, place them to the side of your listening position. If there isn't enough room place these speakers so they face each other. Position them about 60 to 90 cm above your ear, facing slightly downward.

Yeah will be fine. If can't place behind can place to side.

If you place too high above head height then everything will sound like it's coming above you which you don't want as it as a upfiring speaker as well.
