Was pricing up a replacement soundbar and found the Q990D at a damn good price.

Once you add it to your basket, checkout it and it drops to £799, add the BF45 code and it'll drop further to £754. Was a bit skeptical but mines has been processed and shipped.

Only a few left so be quick if you're after one.

Nice deal, I have the 990b, think I paid about the same a couple of years ago. I imagine the actual speakers are the same and these just have the advantage of HDMI 2.1, 120hz vrr, etc. The speakers themselves though are awesome, incredibly loud and incredibly bassy if you want them to be.

Yeah I upgraded from the 990B, nice soundbar and would've been content with it but I needed the extra bandwidth that HDMI 2.1 gives. I think you're right that's the major difference along with some audio feature such as mirroring front and rear output.

I was skeptical about those open box returns listed as new on eBay, as you never know what you're getting. Then nearly paid £1200 at Currys so this was a cracking deal going under the radar.

Excellent deal if only I had the spare cash at the moment I'd do the same, being able to plug my Xbox directly into it and get 120hz, Dolby Atmos, DTS and all that would be awesome. Currently my Xbox is just doing 5.1 PCM via eARC plugged into the TV and going to the 990b as the Atmos over eARC has a delay but I'd rather have 120hz vrr than Atmos whereas with the 990d I could have both things.

Pity you did not want to buy a Samsung soundbar last month as they were running the yearly cashback deals and the 990 was £500 back, it should be the same when they release the 'E' models.

I saw that expired deal on HotUKDeals, maybe explains a lot of openbox ones on eBay, making a quick buck.Would have been nice to have taken up that offer but I had no need for hdmi 2.1 last month, and this deal is still satisfying. :)

They tend to do it every year, how I got my C series last year.

People do indeed buy a load as soon as the offer starts and before retailers jack the prices up. You have to open the box to get the serial number off the main soundbar as it is not printed on the box to claim the cashback which usually takes 3 months.

Ah that makes a lot of sense :)

Absolutely love my Q990D. Had it about 3-4 months and got it for around £650ish after cashback (£400 from Samsung). It's just fantastic. However, it does feel slightly odd how it's better to use the phone app rather than the remote due to more options.

Well it was as low as £449 early December which was an absolute steal!

Yeah I got mine for about £400: £350 for trading in an old soundbar (I gave my parents my old Samsung HW-MS650 and they gave me their cheapo one to exchange), 5% discount for using the Samsung app to order and £400 cashback which has been approved and pending payment. Absolute bargain, it's superb.
