Samsung QE55Q8FN

I'm looking at getting a new 4K TV in the January sales, the Samsung QE55Q8FN has come up on RS as an option and I wondered if anyone had any thoughts or has one of these?

Also what would people suggest as a 55 inch TV around £1000-1200 - is there anything much better than the Samsung?

Ideally looking for a 4K TV to use with Plex, apple tv, and UHD BR discs.

The XF90 is superior in terms of local dimming, out of the box calibration, and motion (this in particular is very important & a distinct difference). Considering you haven't mentioned PC usage or gaming, I wouldn't give the Q8FN a second thought over the XF90. It's usually cheaper as well, to boot.

I do like a little bit of PS4 and would look to upgrade to a Pro, but PC definitely not as I have a gsync monitor to use.

I’ll have to see if I can see the difference between a Q8 and the XF90 then to choose between them.

Anything else I should consider around this price point?

Will local array dimming make a big difference (sorry I’m out of the loop with TVs these days!).
