Regarding a bright room, you should have a look at some of the reviews on rtings. They measure the TV light output in HDR and non-HDR modes. The results are very revealing. Just because a TV is a high price for its size, or meant to be a premium product, it doesn't necessarily follow that all the tech' and performance is better.
A case in point is LG's equivalent to QLED; their Nanocell TVs.
The measurements show that despite being double the price, the backlighting isn't that much brighter than something like a budget Hisense at half the price.
The Sony is very good in respect of brightness. Just as importantly though, there are very few complaints about Sony TV back lights failing a year or two after purchase. Unlike LG, Sony aren't running their lights as hard so they're not overheating and burning out.
Compare the reviews for the Sony and the Samsung you're considering. Look at features such as the native refresh rate of the panel, and whether its full 10-bit or 8+ 2 bit FRC. Read up on full array local dimming and how many zones the Sony has. Check out compatibility with Dolbyvision, e-ARC etc.
