HI im after a lappy top but know nothing about about them i was looking at getting the samsung r530 but not sure, what i want to be able to do is watch dvds on it, play games like wow etc please help.

You need dedicated graphics to play games. The R580 comes wiht a GT310M, which is minimum spec really.

Do your research BEFORE you buy! Check if you have any way to return the laptop and get a refund.
