Samsung R700 as a first laptop?

This looks good to me. Although I haven't owned one, users seem generally pleased with Samsung laptops, and Samsung products in general seem well-thought out. It looks like the graphics card will cope with a bit of game playing too.

Processor is good for the price, plenty of memory, looks like a good choice.

Well it arrived this morning (well 15 mins ago infact) me and the silver surfer (my 60 yo mum) opened it and woo ahhh.

Follow instructions, fit battery, plug AC to lap top, plug plug to ac.

Open case to turn on, big sticker, ensure battery is fully charged before usage.

So its currently sat there eating power till this evening.

8 hours should be enough time shouldny it.

Also ive recived a Windows Vista Recovery Disk, is this not the full version, and if not how do i get a full version.
