Ok so I have to RMA my Samsung f3 hdd but have been told Samsung are strict with the way you package the hard drive to send back.
So how should I package it up?

Thanks

Do you still have the plastic container in which it originally come in?
Pack with plenty of bubble wrap in a cardboard box, if you don't have the plastic container see if you can hold of a anti-static bag.

if you recieved it as an OEM hard drive (ie, got a hard drive, no packaging, no wires, etc), then the best you can do is put it inside a small ocean of bubble wrap, and put this inside a box, or padded envelope.

put the shipping label on more than one side if its a box

if it came with some fancy packaging, then it would be best to put it in there if you still have it, and then apply bubble wrap and box/envelope

I recently RMA'd an F3 to Rexo ltd (the Samsung RMA agent in the UK), didn't know they were especially strict. I just popped the drive into an anti static bag, wrapped that in some bubble and popped it into a small box

Edit: Out of interest, why are you RMAing it?

Drive stopped working have a look at my recent thread for more detail.

Oh, no worries. They have some firmware issues with some recent motherboard chipsets, was the first question I was asked when on the phone for the RMA. They still managed to send me an F3 with dicky firmware as a replacement. Took nearly a month btw

I've RMA'd many a Samsung.. After a while i just made sure it was in an anti-static bag and well packed (don't place in any old bag or direct into bubble wrap). I've never had any rejected.. Be prepared for a wait though.. You might be best off buying new and selling the returned drive which is often new anyway.
